New management appointments

We are delighted to announce two important new appointments to our excellent Management Team.

Our new General Manager is Robin Boyd, who will succeed Amanda Laidler. Robin is one of the Loft’s lighting designers and a member of the Loft Technical Team.

Robin has extensive management experience, both in running arts venues and also in his own engineering consultancy business. Robin and Amanda are working in tandem until the official handover on 30th November, after which Amanda will step down. All General Manager communications should be addressed to both of them until then.

The Loft owes Amanda a huge debt of gratitude for her immense contribution to the effective running of the theatre over the past few years.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Laura Quirke as our new Head of Marketing. Laura is not new to the Loft, as you may have seen her as a volunteer in the theatre box office for the past two years.

Laura is a professional marketeer. Her career has been in marketing, communications and engagement for a wide range of public, private and not-for-profit organisations, most recently for the NHS. She will handle the Head of Marketing voluntary role around her current work for South Warwickshire NHS Clinical Commissioning Group.

Laura will work alongside other volunteers who bring their marketing skills to the theatre, running our press relations, social media accounts, email marketing, and the many other elements of our communications. Her first task with her team will be to launch our production of Alan Bennett’s Wind in the Willows which will now be opening in January.

As Laura says, “Wind in the Willows is the perfect socially-distanced production for reopening the Loft; a brilliantly entertaining show for everyone to enjoy after the months of lockdown.  It is an extraordinarily clever way of enabling the Loft Theatre to reopen at last.  I am very excited to be involved, and delighted to be working with such a creative team.”
